Our Mission

Spread Peace

Alabrar Muslim Association is a not-for-profit organization established to serve the Muslims residing in Aurora, Newmarket, and Oak Ridges and provide them with a place of worship for regular prayers and Islamic Education. Additionally, we offer programs targeting kids, adults, sisters, and families to encourage healthy relationships within the community and spread the Islamic message of peace.

Aims and Objectives

  • Advance and teach the religious tenets, doctrines and observances associated with the Islamic faith.

  • Establish, maintain, and support a house of worship with services conducted in accordance with Islamic tenets and doctrines.

  • Provide community and social services including family counselling, conflict resolution, youth guidance, and more.

  • To establish and maintain a religious school of instruction for children, youth and adults.
  • Share the message of compassion inherent in Islam to followers of other religious faiths and promote cordial relations and meaningful dialogue between Muslims and members of other faiths.

  • Cooperate and promote cordial relations with all organizations in Canada.
  • Participate in Dawa and spread the message of Islam in Canada.
  • Assist in providing funeral services to the Muslim community.

Our Imam

Sheikh Refaat

Imam Refaat has lived in Canada for many years and understands the complexity of navigating Islam in the West. He holds a degree in Islamic Studies from the renowned Al-Azhar University in Egypt, as well as a Master’s and PhD from the United States in the same subject. He is currently the president of the Canadian Council of Imams (CCI).
