Features
Spacious building
Spanning approximately 14,000 square feet, the building includes 2 floors, 3 halls, and over 25 rooms. The building is in excellent condition and has a well-structured layout that will allow us to host a variety of events and activities
Prime location
Located in the heart of downtown Aurora, right by the intersection of Yonge and Wellington, the building is surrounded by churches, public transit, and lots of foot traffic, making it an ideal location for Dawah and interfaith dialogue.
New opportunities
In addition to typical Masjid activities, Al-Abrar hosts a Sunday School for children and youth, weekly family potlucks, and more. With the additional space, we can expand our existing programs, and add new programs.
About Al Abrar
Al-Abrar was founded as the first and only Masjid in Aurora in the holy month of Ramadan in 2015 with just 5 members, and quickly grew to a community of over 1,000. We have been serving the communities of Aurora, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, and surrounding areas for over 10 years. The association is led by Imam Refaat Mohamed, a graduate of the renowned Al-Azhar University in Egypt and president of the Canadian Council of Imams. We have been leasing various temporary facilities, and our current location was overflowing during Ramadan, with some people having to pray outside. We hope to continue serving the community by establishing a permanent location and expanding our programs.
Secure your house in paradise
“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”
– Sahih al-Bukhārī 450, Sahih Muslim 533
